Adsense Success Tips and Things to Avoid

It is too easy for some people to decide that in order to learn how to make money with adsense, they should cut corners on some of the rules and common sense assumptions if they want to have adsense success. This is more likely to get them in trouble with Google administrators.

There is no doubt the thousands of good webmasters have adsense success because they have found a good way to learn how to make money with adsense. By following their lead, you can add your name to the list of successful entrepreneurs using the Adsense principles. However, there are some things associated with the Google program that you should avoid at all costs. These may be specific to the program, or they may be just common sense prohibitions. Take the time to know and understand these things that can destroy your revenue source before you are well started.

Getting the cart before the horse

Before attempting to place ads or make money with adsense, be certain that you understand the concepts and the reasoning behind the actions that you will take. Newcomers often get so excited about the prospects of a good work-at-home income that they will leap into the program and then wonder why the revenues are not as substantial as they are reputed to be. It is because the program is not being followed according to the best rules and practices as set out by Google. Obtaining a good tutorial that will walk you step by step through the process of identifying potential revenue sources and place the appropriate ads will mean more profit for you in the long run.

Assumptions

Don't make the assumption that just because something worked in another program you have tried that it will work equally well in your adsense success conquest. It may work quite well, or it may be a concept that is adaptable for Adsense, but the trick is to know the difference. You need to understand the big picture before setting your expectations and assumptions about the performance of Adsense. Another assumption to avoid is that you will make a certain amount of money if you follow the program. Even if you abide by all the good principles, it doesn't guarantee that you will be set for life financially.

Skating on thin ice

When you set out to learn how to make money with adsense, make certain that you don't push the limits that are defined by the Google administrators. You may be tempted to try something thinking that no one will notice, or that it's only a little bit questionable. In fact, you are risking your continued participation in the Adsense program if you step over the line. Google is willing to work with you and to respond to honest queries about whether a particular practice or item is acceptable under Adsense guidelines.

Blatant violations

To make money with adsense, you must apply for and be accepted as an Adsense publisher by Google administration. This means that you have agreed to abide by the rules and regulations of the Adsense program. Google--and reputable users of Adsense--recognize that maintaining the quality of the program helps advertising and helps with the acceptance of internet advertising as a legitimate and professional medium for marketing. You may be forgiven one trespass, but Google is also under no obligation to allow you to blatantly ignore the policies and procedures.

How to Choose a VPN Service

Do you know that you have no privacy when you go online? It doesn't matter what anti-virus you have, whether free or paid, or if you have your firewall protection on, the data you send when you are using the internet can be accessed by third party individuals. What you need to have is the protection of a virtual private network or VPN. I am pretty sure you have heard of it before, because there are a lot of VPN service providers available in the market. The big question is which one is the best? Of course when we are talking about online privacy protection, only the best is good enough.

However, being the 'best' varies, and depends on the needs of each individual. For example, your work takes you often to countries abroad where you are blocked from accessing online TV channels such as Fox, NBC, ABC, HULU, and BBC. You are not comfortable with this scenario and want the freedom to be able to watch shows on the said channels; you will need a VPN service provider that offers the best plans for this type of use. Other individuals prioritize surfing anonymously on the web, so they require a provider that has excellent services with regard to hiding their IPs for them to be satisfied.

In general, though, these criteria should be carefully checked before you choose your VPN service provider. They should be the basis on whether or not they are a good VPN company or not.

Check the location of their available servers. When you go online, the IP address that will appear to websites you visit is the IP address of your VPN provider. Websites that have restricted access only to specific areas can be visited by you through your VPN's IP.

Who wants to wait while the webpage loads for a long time? The answer is none. So, make sure that you confirm the speed of the VPN connection you are signing up with.

Ensure that the set-up process of the VPN account is not complicated. There are providers that email you an easy step by step process, which is what you should look for.

Try to read reviews about VPN providers' reliability. Whether a provider's reliable or not depends on the stability of the connection, if there are down times and the number of times it happens.

Last but not the least, check for the price. Is it affordable? Is the price reasonable for the service they provide? Remember, not because a provider offers high prices doesn't necessarily mean they offer the best service. See if a company passes all the criteria I mentioned above. If it does and the price it offers is quite cheap, then you found yourself a perfect VPN service provider.

What Is a VPN?

The initials VPN stand for the term Virtual Private Network. The aim and simple concept of a Virtual Private Network is that it provides users with the ability to access a private network (and therefore individual computers and servers on a private network) from a remote unsecured point outside of that network, without compromising the security of the private network itself.

In effect a VPN creates a tunnel through unsecured networks, which clients can use to access their private network without interference from the rest of the unsecured networks. As VPNs therefore have to transmit private information across unsecured networks such as the world wide web, they need to ensure that the data exchanged across these networks is kept secure by employing a combination of encryption on the data packets and authentication to allow access to only those users with permission.

Using these secure data packets VPN services can therefore be used to transmit any kind of data, including voice, media such as video and conventional data. They are also available from any kind of connection including 3G and DSL meaning that VPNs can be established from any device with a connection to the internet.

Consequently the technology is invaluable for people on the move who need to access and store information on a fixed location private network and is, as such, a vital business tool in companies where workers are required to operate away from a central office location. Staff can use VPNs to communicate with their colleagues as well as logging on to their own profiles on their work network to access private files, shared files on the private network, emails and business resources - as if they were physically sat in the office.

The tool has also grown in popularity with users in locations where there are certain restrictions on their freedom to access all content on the internet, such as China. VPNs can be used to establish a private connection to private networks in unrestricted locations so that a user can effectively browse the internet as if they were in that unrestricted location.

For many VPN clients the preferred solution may be to open an account with a VPN provider rather than simply purchase or acquire of-the-shelf VPN software so that they benefit from the extra services that many VPN providers will supply their clients with. These can include technical support, advanced security protection, malware protection and monitoring software.

In terms of the mechanics of establishing a VPN, they can utilise technology such as Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt the data packets and establish the secure 'tunnel' through which they pass. SSL VPN (and TLS VPN) are particularly useful when IPSec has problems with IP Address translation. Each end of the tunnel must also be authenticated with the access points able to use either passwords or biometrics to identify the user. Once authenticated, connections can be maintained without the need for further authentication if digital certificates are stored.

There are various technologies which are explained in more detail elsewhere that can be used in the actual routing of the VPNs such as Multi Label Protocol Switching (MPLS) to build Internet Protocol Virtual Private Networks (IPVPN), but the variety of the technologies means that there are numerous possible solutions for VPN clients whether they want a software based access point, restricted network access and/or mobile access etc.

Virtual Private Networks can therefore be a real necessity to any business, regardless of the scale on which they operate, particularly if they are likely to have staff working away from the office, whether they are on the move of simply working from home. A VPN Provider can ensure that staff are able to work with full benefits of a virtual office whatever their location.

Most people have more expectations put on this operating system. Here are a few reasons :

1. Light OS with beautiful look

Windows 7 was the first OS from Microsoft is the which did not require more advanced hardware to run the operating system. It broke the previous convention where new Windows versions required better hardware to run properly. Windows 7 was lighter than Vista in almost all the benchmark results and was even faster than Windows XP in many results. So, it was a massive step forward not only for Microsoft but for computer users around the world too as They did not require to change Their computer or hardware every time a new operating system, got launched. Microsoft has now Announced That Will Windows 8 work on the same hardware and Might Be lighter than even Windows 7. It does not only work like a light yet feature rich OS but it also looks like one. Windows 8 has got a sleek look with smooth operation in the recent demos and the scroll and touch features seem to work very smoothly.

Google Plus : the Newest Social Networking

Google Plus is the newest social networking site. Being as its from Google, it's no surprise that this is going to turn out pretty big. While the network is still in its infancy, anyone who has a Gmail account has access to the network. Due to the huge number of users of Gmail, the number of uses in Google Plus skyrocketed as soon as the network was made available. However, since it still has not officially launched, there are many things lacking in Google Plus that Facebook has. For example, businesses are not allowed on Google Plus yet, making the avenue inadequate for advanced marketing. There are many things that make Google Plus quite unique, and it will take some time for Facebook to catch up.

Many people argue that Facebook has been lazy on updating its features, because until now it did not have any major competitors. MySpace unofficially died long ago. Facebook will always have a place in the social networking world, as it will be forced to innovate, but for now Google Plus has some very interesting features.

Google Plus's two most innovative features are Circles and Hangout. Circles is what all the high school and college users of Facebook are really excited about. It allows you to exclude certain categories of people from certain postings, and is much more efficient than the Facebook system of categorizing posts. You can create as many circles as you want and name it whatever you want, and your friends cannot see the name of your circles. It truly is an innovative system!

Then there is Hangout, which is a really awesome feature. It allows you to video chat with multiple people at once. You can get all your friends together and chat in the same place, which is an unparalleled social networking feature. The future is finally here, and it is only a matter of time before we are speaking to each other using holographic representations of ourselves. It might sound crazy, but such technology already exists, and at the rate technology is changing we will probably see that in the next couple years. It is going to be pretty incredible!

De-fragmenting your Hard Drive for Greater Performance

De-fragmenting your hard drive is an often neglected part of computer maintenance. If you ask most people how to de-fragment a hard drive they won’t know what you’re talking about.

De-fragmenting your hard drive is very important if you want your computer performance not to suffer as you add more and more data to your hard drive. Windows has a handy feature that easy let’s you evaluate your hard drive as to whether it needs to be de-fragmented or not, and de-fragment your hard drive as needed.

Although the interface between different versions of windows changes they all have the same basic premise. You simply need to go to the start menu, accessories, system tools then disk defragmenter. Once in the interface you can choose to analyze the hard drives connected to your computer. The analysis will tell you whether you need to de-fragment your hard drives or not. If you do you simply need to select the hard drive from the list and hit de-fragment.

Disk de-fragmenting does one important task. It moves all the files that are scattered across your hard drive to one chunk of the hard drive making it easier to read and write from, therefore increasing the performance of your computer. Over time most computers scatter data across the whole length of the hard drive making accessing this data more time consuming.

Depending on the size of the hard drive your de-fragmenting this usually takes a long time. As a simple guide an 80gb hard drive will take about an hour. This also depends on the speed of your processor and the amount of RAM you have. De-fragmenting your hard drive will take up nearly all of the resources of your computer so you won’t be able to perform any operations while it is running.

The solution to this would be to run the de-fragmentation at a time when you are not using the computer.

A Few Tips On Removing Malware

First of all, it appears that a lot of people have questions regarding malware on their computer. Most of them are unaware of the risks they're exposed to, nor do they realize how there are free tools out there that will take care of these problems for you in most cases. I'm currently a PC technician and have been servicing PCs for a few years. Majority of my calls are based upon virus removals. I can't stress how many times I've gotten a PC and simply ran a malware scan with one of the free tools out there and got rid of this computer. I believe if I was able to broadcast my information across the world, I'd become rich off this simple task.

The first thing you should do when you realize you have malware is to download a malware scanner immediately. The one I prefer and use the most is Microsoft Security Essentials. I use this malware scanner because it detects many things that other malware scanners do not detect. Some PC technicians have their own preference and would prefer something different I'm sure, however, that's just me. I've always had success using this software. MSE is pretty simple and very user friendly for anyone who's struggling on trying to remove a virus. If you're dedicated enough to find out how to remove infections on your own, you'll be pretty successful. I say that because a lot of people figure that computers are too complicating and they'd much rather pay $200 for a virus removal at an expensive company who use nothing but free tools.

All it takes is downloading one file and going on for weeks without realizing you're infected, and your life could turn upside down. There are cases where people accidentally download a keylogger without the user's knowledge, and the keylogger records all of the strokes that the user types on their keyboard. All of this data is then sent back to the hacker and the hacker can do whatever he wants with it. For example, I actually have a friend who posted a keylogger on a forum and many people downloaded it. Majority of them either did not have a malware scanner or had their scanners turned off. This resulted in many infections being spread around the forum. Within a few days, he was checking logs on a remote server and determining that many infected people were using paypal, facebook, twitter, gmail, and personal banking accounts. They were all typing in their credentials as if there's nothing to worry about, not even realizing that they're infected. This could lead to a total disaster and nightmare.

Usually, I would recommend someone run a malware scan at least weekly at the max. I really don't feel as though a regular user is safe if they go over a week without running scans. I say that because majority of the people who aren't tech savvy usually go to all these different websites assuming they're safe. They end up downloading a fake trojan and it leads them into buying software that really don't exist. I've had some customers who constantly did the same thing over and over and over to get the infection, not realizing that they were being mislead by a fake virus scanner.

Alienware Hardware: Hardcore Gamers Only

If you were to ask me, I would say that Alienware is one for the top laptop manufacturers today whose primary focal point is high end gaming machines. They have many competitors but their attention to detail and hardware selection leaves them head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.

Just on first glance you will notice that an Alienware laptop is much more than your average machine. Alienware is well known for their striking design sense. When people think of stylish laptops they tend to think of Apple but Alienware are trying to change that perception.

The only caveat to purchasing an Alienware is the cost. Since these machines cater to the hardcore gamer they are not cheap. The reason they carry such a steep price tag is because of the quality of parts that they use when creating their laptops. Only the best parts are used and this can carry a very high price, especially on the highest end models they carry.

Alienware Laptop Specifications
As most gamers know the key to running the top of line, graphically intense game is performance. By using the most high performance processors available Alienware machines are typically highly reliable and have no problems keeping up.

You will never have to worry about when buying an Alienware, every model carries a great processor. The only thing you have to figure out is how fast you want it.

Power users know that RAM is a vital part of multitasking. These machines always have RAM to spare and can handle just about anything you might through its way. Usually these laptops carry at least 6GB of memory but if need be can be upgraded to much more.

Modern applications can use 2-3 GB of RAM to work effectively so if multitasking power is a must for you the more RAM the better obviously.

With games needing more and more power today Alienware always has the best dedicated video cards installed. As a matter of fact, some of their machines even carry multiple cards for the ultimate in performance. Although the majority of casual users may not need this added power some graphic designers choose to go this route as the applications they use are very GPU intensive.

An added benefit of these laptops is that they tend to carry larger than average screens. When it comes to gaming, visual quality can be crucial. This is why Alienware uses very high resolution screens in their gaming laptops.

Troubleshooting Common Wireless Network Problems

With the birth of wireless internet connections, people are enjoying easy access to the internet. Workplaces, restaurants, schools, and department stores now offer free Wi-Fi access to people, and mostly, these people also prefer wireless connections at their very own households, relishing the comfort of having to connect to the internet through their desktops, laptops, or even their high-end cellular phones anytime anywhere.

Every good thing has a downside and the wireless connection is not a exception to this rule. Wireless network problems are sometimes experienced by users. Surely, this inability to access through the internet can frustrate a person, especially if you are in a situation where urgency is at a higher level.

Below are the most common wireless network problems and some troubleshooting tips that you may find useful when facing this kind of problems:

• No Connections Found

If by chance you have encountered this one, make sure that the wireless switch of your unit is turned "on". If it is already on and still you haven't found any connections, check your location (if it is covered by a wireless network).

• Connections Suddenly Went Out

What's more irritating than being interrupted in the middle of sending an important e-mail to your boss? The signal going may suddenly make you feel like throwing the wireless router. When certain wireless network problems like this one occurs, try to cool down your temper and check the cable or the DSL modem. Usually in this situation the problem is not in your router, instead, it is the ISP that went down. In this case, contact your service provider.

Other possible reason is a conflict in the IP address. If this happens, just try to reboot your wireless router to get a new IP address.

• Slow Connections

There are two possible reasons for this wireless network problem. One is that your position or location may be too far away from the router or in an area where you are having too much interference like wireless phones and cellular phones. Solve this problem by simply going closer towards your wireless router. Another reason is that you may have too many people attached to or using your network that are downloading large files too. Solve this by limiting the number of users that can connect to your network and activate security.

There are some of the common wireless network issues you may face and their solutions.

Mac Vs Windows: Which Is Truly More Expensive?

When you're ready to buy a Mac, it's really not that different from any other serious purchase: you need to do a little research to make sure you're investing your money wisely. Few people like to replace their computer every year, even in two years. Most regular consumers would rather ride that baby 'til it dies, put some duct tape on it for a few more years, then buy a new one. So when buying a computer it's important to keep total cost of ownership (TCI) in mind. This is a term that factors in years of use, maintenance costs, downtime (when it's out for repair, for example) and other criteria for determining the true value of a computer. Many studies have been done that have proven that over the period of time you own the computer, Macs hold their value much better - one study showed that Windows was actually five times more expensive. And that study was nearly five years ago: Macs have come down in price since then.

Enjoy it, or Fix it?
Apple computers have long had to face down this "higher cost" issue. While it's true that you can find a PC for less than $500, even less than $300 in many places, you simply cannot compare the sticker price alone when deciding on which computer is right for you. Most of these sub-$500 PCs are cheaper because they're made from cheaper, and in many cases old and well-used, parts. Windows-based computers are still  highly susceptible to over 100,000 viruses, malware, spyware, and other dangers that not only infect your PC but dramatically slow it down. To date there are no known viruses that affect Mac OS X. Those numbers alone should end the argument. Eliminate the cost of anti-virus software as well as the hours spent sweeping for malware etc., the repair costs to fix the PC after it's become infected, Would you rather spend your time enjoying your computer, or fixing it?
It's been said before, but think of buying a car: you can buy a cheap clunker, or a nice new car. You know you're going to have to put a lot more money into the clunker, much more downtime to maintenance and repair, and sooner than later you'll have to replace it. But at least it wasn't fun while it lasted, right? The same concept applies to computers: would you rather pay more upfront, or pay more in the long run?

Apples to Oranges
When comparing computers, make sure you're comparing properly. Comparison shopping can be confusing, especially if you aren't an expert in computer technology - and if you were, you probably wouldn't be reading this. One trap many fall into is comparing the processors: a PC has 4 Ghz chip, a Mac has a 3 Ghz, etc. However Apple's operating system utilizes the processor in more efficient ways, meaning that what seems to be a slower chip many times is equal to or better than one with a higher number. Those numbers haven't truly been an accurate measure of computer power for years, although many people don't let go it.
What you need to balance is what each computer comes with with the cost involved. In order to properly match computers, find a PC that includes comparable software to everything that's included on the Mac. Putting a value on iMovie, iPhoto, iWeb, etc. varies: you may never use iWeb for instance. You might be a gamer, or a graphic designer, or you may be in the majority of computer buyers: you just need a computer for Internet, email, and maybe your tunes and pictures. So match up the computers that fit your personal needs, and then move on to the total cost of ownership.

Most Importantly
This is going to be your computer. Advice is great, and can be helpful, but don't lose sight of what your needs are. For me, as well as most of my clients, by far the most important issue was getting a computer that I could enjoy, I could be productive with, and that would last as long as possible. The longest a PC ever lasted for me was about 3 years, and they weren't good years. I now own three Macs that are older than 5 years, including the iMac I bought for my mother in 2002. All still work fine. Obviously I'm going to be suggesting you buy a Mac, but it's from experience with both. Take my advice, put it in your pocket, and go to an Apple store to get a good long look. Do your research and decide what's best for you. If and when you do buy a Mac, I'll be right here waiting for you.

How To Speed Up Internet Explorer

Nobody likes a slow internet browser, and when it comes to slow Internet Explorer has a bad reputation of being slow, clunky and an overall pain. Browsers such as Google Chrome or Fire Fox offer a much better user experience (well at least in my opinion), but if you insist on using Internet Explorer here are a couple ways to speed it up.

The first thing you can do is remove all the extra add-ons explorer likes to jam into its browser. The more of these add-ons you have the slower that browser becomes. To remove any unwanted add ons click on tools. If you're using Internet Explorer 9 it will look like a small gear in the top right corner of the page.

From their click it and scroll down to where it says manage add-ons, click that and a list of all the add-ons currently installed on your browser will be displayed. From here simply scroll down the list and click on every add on you want to disable.

Another option that's available is something called Google Chrome Frame. It's a free download like everything Google makes. Its purpose is to speed up explorer, especially older versions 7 and 8. It also allows its users to be able to use HTML5 and other technologies that Internet Explorer doesn't support. Simply download it and it should start working automatically.

You can also change the setting so that it doesn't check for new versions of cached sites. To do this click on internet options (click the gear looking button again also known as tools) go to browsing history and click on settings. From here either choose under temporary internet files one of the following

a. Every time I start Internet Explorer, which might slow down the browser the first time you run it. It should run faster after though.

b. Never, this won't sync any cached pages.

And finally you can also speed up Internet Explorer by sorting through your favourites list and deleting any links you don't use anymore. A large number of favourites can have an impact on its speed and slow it down, so it's always a good idea to spend a little time and clean out you're favorites list.

Hopefully these tips will help if your currently using any version of explorer and drastically improve that browsers speed and load time. Which will keep you from ripping you're hair out in frustration.
